Optical tweezers-based immunosensor detects femtomolar concentrations of antigens.

چکیده
We used optical tweezers (optical trapping technology) to measure the force required to separate antigen-antibody bonds. Under competitive-binding conditions, we used the force determination to detect and measure protein antigen concentrations as small as 1 fmol/L (10(-15) mol/L).

measuring viscoelastic properties of Red Blood Cell using optical tweezers
Efforts have been made to study the behavior of complex materials in micrometer dimensions with various techniques. One of these methods is the use of optical tweezers for biophysical applications. Red blood cells, as the most abundant blood-forming cells, play an important role in the life of living organisms, and their unique mechanical properties are important. In this report, the study of s...

The local viscoelasticity was compared between full-length and telopeptide-removed collagen solutions using optical-tweezers-based microrheology. An enhanced modulus at higher concentrations in full-length collagen solutions suggests contributions from telopeptide-associated transient crosslinks. متن کاملFlatfish vitellogenin detection using optical waveguide lightmode spectroscopy-based immunosensor.
A sensitive optical waveguide lightmode spectroscopy-based immunosensor was developed to detect vitellogenin in seawater flatfish (Paralichthys olivaceus). For this purpose, anion-exchange column chromatography with DE-52 resin was used to purify flatfish vitellogenin from flatfish serum containing vitellogenin that had been induced using an intraperitoneal 17beta-estradiol injection. The anti-...
متن کاملImmunosensors: technology and opportunities in laboratory medicine.
An immunosensor is a device comprising an antigen or antibody species coupled to a signal transducer, which detects the binding of the complementary species. An indirect immunosensor uses a separate labeled species that is detected after binding by, e.g., fluorescence or luminescence (i.e., a heterogeneous immunoassay). A direct device detects the binding by a change in potential difference, cu...
متن کاملA Piezoelectric Immunosensor Using Hybrid Self-Assembled Monolayers for Detection of Schistosoma japonicum
BACKGROUND The parasite Schistosoma japonicum causes schistosomiasis disease, which threatens human life and hampers economic and social development in some Asian countries. An important lesson learned from efforts to reduce the occurrence of schistosomiasis is that the diagnostic approach must be altered as further progress is made towards the control and ultimate elimination of the disease. ...
